Design :: Mixing the Magic of the Holiday's Into Your Wedding Day
There is nothing quite like a winter wedding; from the natural elements such as lush fir inspired greenery and chopped wood for the fire pits, to the seasonally bold hues and metallic accents that add just the right amount of holiday sparkle. Not to mention that winter is also the time of year when all of the leaves have fallen from the tree branches, giving wedding guests picturesque views of the acres of rolling hills surrounding the farm. It truly is a magical time of year to visit Mint Springs Farm, so we aim to craft each winter wedding design to be more and more merrier the closer we inch to the reason for the season. There are endless ways to incorporate holiday cheer and merriment at your event—without going overboard with the traditional red and green color palette of Christmas! Here are a few of our favorite ways to incorporate the magic of the holidays into your day-of details...!

Seasonal Color Palette :: From deep burgundy and merlot to rich emerald hues, jewel tones make a bold and beautiful visual impact. They add much-needed warmth to an otherwise cool winter palette whether in bridal party attire, cake decor, or floral varieties. And of course you can't celebrate the season without the traditional take on red and green. There are so many shades of each that it's easy to mix + match the hues to compliment your decor!

Twinkling Lights + Candlelight :: While bistro lighting is really having a moment, the colder months are the perfect time to bring back the sparkling ambiance created with string twinkle lights. String lighting helps to define the space and draw your guests into the intimate setting that we've created for your special day. Already suspended over top of our open air cocktail patio, these lovely lights are also an option in the reception barn as well. But don't count out our chandeliers yet because these gorgeous fixtures add a dramatic flare to your festive fête unlike any other!

Finding Warmth by the Fire :: Another enhancing element of our open air cocktail patio are the multiple fire pits and locally stationed heaters thoughtfully placed to keep guests warm during all of the cold weather celebrations. Our firewood, if not cut and collected on the farm, is locally sourced and purchased to support nearby farmers and businesses in our area. From cocktail hour to a late-night bonfire, finding warmth by the fire is always a wonderful idea in the coming winter months.

Seasonal Holiday Shimmer :: Including metallic accents in your overall multi-tabletop designs are a great way to add the right touch of seasonal shimmer to your decor. From candle votives to large floral vases, plated in silver, gold and mercury glass-- there are endless ways to incorporate the ever popular metallic trend into your decor without going overboard on the sparkle!

Glistening Greenery :: Can we even talk about the holidays if we don't include greenery? From Christmas trees and holiday garland to the perfect, pretty mix of a winter floral arrangement, there is never a shortage of lush overflowing greenery at Mint Springs Farm. We embrace this earthy element of the season over and over again, which only enhances the ambiance and overall decor by using seasonal greenery such as fir, pine, cypress and evergreen. Mixing greenery with winter floral such as Paperwhites, seasonal Anemones, golden Ranunculus, traditional Mums, white Freesia, and red Roses to name a few, and accenting those with winter berries, lotus pods, dusty miller, and some faux snow dusted foliage to add texture and dimension make for beautiful arrangements + bouquets!
