Details :: Dogs + I Do
If you own a dog, or any type of pet for that matter, then you can probably agree with us in saying that your pet is more than just an animal, your pet has most likely become a part of your family. So naturally when you're planning one of the biggest days of your life, you probably want to include your four-legged furry family member. We've had numerous couples involve their pets in their wedding day, and we have to admit that including these sweet additions really does enhance the whole celebration. From walking down the aisle to joining their 'pawrents' at the table, here are some of our favorite sweet + creative ways our past couples have incorporated their dogs into their own big days..
Here are a few of our favorite ways to include your pet in your wedding day..
Save the (Doggone) Date ::
Kick things off, canine style, with a dog-themed save-the-date. We can't think of a more adorable way to announce your big day. Couples have been known to include their pets in their engagement photos!
Get Ready Together ::
Will you and your bridesmaids get ready together? Let your little guy or girl tag along in the bridal suite and/or grooms loft! They deserve a little pampering too!
Bridal Pawty ::
Invite your dog to be a part of the bridal party. After all they've been there for you through the good and bad, so let them join in on all of the fun of your big day!
Dressed to Impress ::
Dogs in weddings should look just as dapper as the rest of the wedding party. Think bow-ties and tuxedos for boys, floral collars and tutus for girls.
Steal a Good Luck Kiss ::
Pets are known to help reduce anxiety. Before you walk down the aisle, spend a few moments snuggling your sweet pooch and steal a kiss before you say I Do!
Say I Do(g) ::
Let him or her stand up with you when you recite your vows. They're part of your fur-ever as well!
Family Photos ::
Typically on the day of your wedding, two become one, but in your case two become three or more! Snap a few photos of your new family!
Go on a Walk ::
After your ceremony, while guests enjoy cocktail hour, you and your new spouse should take your fur baby on a walk and enjoy some quiet time all together. Plus you'll probably get some cute photos!
Treats for Favors ::
Instead of guest favors, some couples have been known to make donations to local shelters and animal protection organizations, giving their guests a good feeling instead.
Doggy Bags ::
Bringing doggy bags for guests to take home any extra food from the reception is always a thoughtful idea, especially since so many guests have to leave dogs at home for long periods of time when attending a wedding. It's a sweet treat after a lonely day!
Did you know that most venues don't allow pets on the property for weddings? Well that's not an issue at Mint Springs Farm.. we believe that pets are just as important as any other guests. The more the merrier! To schedule a tour of the property, check our availability, and book your wedding day with us, please contact us today.
