Chris+Wesley's Love Story :: Told by the Bride
Once upon a time, there was a young lady that boarded a plane headed to Memphis, Tennessee from Hong Kong. She didn't speak a word of English and she was too young to understand the importance of this move; what it meant for her family and the sacrifice that her parents were making on behlaf of her future and the future of her sisters. At about this same time there was a young kid named Wesley who dreamed of being a great wrestler and marrying a beautiful Asian girl. The life long dedication to his sport provided him the greatest friendships a guy could ask for, stories + experiences you can't make up, valuable life lessons, taught him a strong work ethic, and even helped to provide him with an advanced education. It was his strong work ethic that would ultimately lead him to Nashville for an opportunity to further his career in medical sales. Leaving his home, family, friends, and the wrestling community was one of the toughest decisions he has ever had to make. But as fate would have it, little did he know where his life would lead him upon moving south to Tennessee.. While Wes was settling into his new life in Nashville, Chris was three hours west, still living in Memphis, co-running a cloud based storage business that she started from scratch. Already honored as "Memphis's Top 40 Under 40," she was 26 and prided herself as being an astute, savvy business woman who is always working for more. After being recognized as an independent successful woman, Chris would surprise her family and friends, and make a life altering decision to sell her company, and to go to work for a large corporate technology company in Nashville. Chris had no idea that the decision to move east would lead her to meeting her perfect match.
Fast forward a few months and after mutual friends introduced the two, Chris+Wesley finally had their first date. Everything fell into place. It was on their first date that the two would uncover their first of many commonalities: their love and loyalty to their family and friends. A toast was made on their first date, when they met up with mutual friends for drinks after dinner,"To the importance of family and friends, they made us who we are today". As it turns out, this date would be the first block of the foundation of their lasting relationship that would lead them to the farm.
Chris said that even though both of their lives lead them in separate paths to one another, she doesn't regret any of the decisions that she's made because everything worth anything takes time.
Design Inspiration ::
Chris+Wesley wanted an elegant and timeless approach to their day. They chose blushing and light tones for all of their floral, paired with pressed mercury glass, gilded golden details, mirroring centerpieces, and luxe navy + neutral tones for their linens. Chandeliers were suspended overhead, while an abundance of candles highlighted the intimate and romantic mood of the evening.
