Design :: Invitation Inspiration

One of the suite-est details, and one that requires a lot of time and energy we might add, is your invitation suite. We see so many new and beautiful designs when our couples bring their idyllic invites with them during their planning sessions and of course on their wedding day. We do have to admit one of our favorite photos to look back on from their day-of is the dreamy detailing of their styled invitation suite taken by their photographer. Many photographers will ask their couples to bring their complete invitation suites with them on their special day so that they can place it in spots around the venue, and sometimes the photographers even add some complimentary accessories for the styled shoot. Below are some of our favorite invitation suites + ideas sure to inspire your pretty paper design!..

Whether it's some of your wedding flowers or a sprig of greenery, accessories are bound to make a visual impact! Leaves can stand alone without flowers and still serve as the main accessory. Are you including a theme on your wedding day that includes your overall design and decor? Get fun accessories to style next to your invitation suite! Are you getting married during the holidays? Grab some fir from a pine tree and ornaments! Is your wedding during the fall? Collect some red, orange and yellow leaves that fell from trees on the property. The options are endless!

The bride's wedding shoes and veil can serve as feminine details in the photographs. You can also incorporate the bride's engagement ring and both of the wedding bands by laying them on the invitations or putting them in your favorite ring box. If either of you are using a special handkerchief or wearing any jewelry that goes well with the suite, add that in your photos. The boutonnières can also be the perfect add-on accessories!

If you are having a destination wedding, meaning more than half of your guests are traveling to Tennessee for your wedding, then you might want to include some design elements that are native to that area. For example, a map of the hotel where you booked a block of rooms for guests to the rehearsal dinner location and to the farm. Including the state of Tennessee or the tri-star symbol is another great way to incorporate your destination into your details!

Are you using a specific type of linen for your reception? Use a sample piece for the suite styled photo! Your table runners and any personalized items can also serve as the perfect props! The same goes for personalized belly bands, custom designed monogram, calligraphy on the envelopes, and much more!

When you are selecting the floral and greenery for the bouquets and boutonnière, make sure to tell your planner to make a note to give a little extra to your photographer because greenery is probably the best accessory of all!
